So glad you want to find out more about me. And I am sure I will have an opportunity to find out more about you in the future.
My grandmother was my first guru. She introduced yoga philosophy to my siblings & me. My grandmother lost her sight in an accident, but she never complained about it. I remember her very peaceful being, who always chanted mantras. I am also very fortunate to learn Sanskrit in my school years. I realized the value of learning Sanskrit, it helped my curious mind to study deeper dimensions of the wisdom of yoga.
Even though I completed my Master’s in Computers and was working in the corporate world, my yoga studies continued with great master’s of yoga, like Padekar guruji, B.K.S. Iyengar, to name a few. During this time, as per my teacher’s suggestion, I shared my understating of yoga with different age groups.
After my daughter’s birth, my little family moved to the USA, where I continued studying yoga and Ayurveda. I also visited India regularly for my studies. I realized the combination of the wisdom of Yoga and Ayurveda can make a massive positive impact on people’s life. I shared this understanding with those who were interested in this wisdom.
No matter where in the world I was, I regularly meditated, practiced asana, pranayama and kept my health in check. It was a big push to deepen and discipline my practice in yoga. The wisdom of yoga and Ayurveda is profound and vast, for this reason, I feel the need to continue to learn from great masters of these fields.
Eventually, I found a sense of calm and peace within. My friends wanted to know my secret of inner peace. More people started to join the yoga sessions. And that is when I sensed the calling to teach holistic yoga in the USA.
“I believe that no one and nothing outside of you can give you answers or inner peace, coming back to your inner light is the key. Yoga and Ayurveda can provide amazing guidelines to awaken the inner Guru.”
After spending seven and half years in the USA we moved to Australia, where I continued my Yoga and Ayurveda studies as well as continued teaching to various groups of people. I offered mentoring sessions for yoga teachers as well as one-to-one sessions to individuals who were looking for living a life of purpose or dharma. I also started giving lectures on yoga philosophy, meditation, Sanskrit – the language of yoga, Samskaras- conditionings of mind, Yoga and the human mind, practical Ayurveda, and much more.
"I believe that yoga heart of yoga is meditation, heart of meditation is mantra, heart of mantra is Sanskrit, heart of Sanskrit is bija mantra, heart of bija mantra are vibrations from which universe is created."
To date, I have taught for over 20 years, I have more than 15000 recorded hours of yoga teaching, facilitating yoga experiences, and teaching for thousands of students. I also teach yoga teachers, yoga therapists the deeper aspects of yoga and Ayurveda philosophy—ones that transcend the physical practice of asana (physical poses), which is what modern society often mislabels as yoga itself.
What I saw as missing, I took upon myself to fulfill. So today, I dedicate myself to bridge the gap between the comprehensive yoga curriculum. I was blessed to have a mainstream understanding of yoga and Ayurveda. I make Yoga & Ayurveda accessible and practical for modern times.
I teach meditation to those who are seeking inner peace. I also teach meditation at workplaces, where employers or management are looking after the wellbeing of their employees.
I offer one-to-one mentoring sessions, group sessions, talks, workshops to bring the wisdom of Yoga and Ayurveda into day-to-day life.
Today I am partner in Beecroft yoga where I offer regular yoga sessions, I am co-founder of Immersion Yoga Teacher Training Central Coast where I have written and am teaching 200hr, 150hr, 350hr and Children’s Yoga teacher training as well as Meditation Teacher Training. I also teach at Adore yoga’s yoga therapy teacher training and Sukha Mukha yoga’s yoga teacher training.
My wish is to bring the untainted version of this body of knowledge, so people can live a life of true happiness, freedom and fulfilment. If you feel called to explore them, I feel called to invite you too.
